Scharlau Nutrient Agar is a solid culture medium for general microbiological purposes. The manufacturer documents its method context with reference to APHA and ISO 6579, 6785 and 10273. This general-purpose role is the key selection feature when a procedure specifies nutrient agar, rather than a medium designed for a named selective endpoint.
